My 14 year old daughter Sophie, likes it when I mention her. So, here she is; mentioned.

I lived in Ghana for two years, in a small border town. I was teaching. I was also drunk a lot of the time. I learnt to play backgammon well, and the guitar badly. I enjoyed them both.

I love lists of things and I don’t know why. If I can make a list of something, I will. Once something is in a list then I’ll I really want to add more to that list. If I can work out statistics or patterns about the list, then I’m even happier. I use this trick to motivate myself.

I’ve written down every book I’ve read since September 2009. I like to work out statistics around the list of books. It’s very motivating – see above.

I moved to Australia in 2017, with my wife Louise, and my daughter Sophie (who’ll be very pleased to be getting a second mention). We never had a life plan to move to Australia – we just fancied a change.

I was a maths and science teacher in the UK for a bit. We played a lot of bingo in class and I shouted at the kids too much. I wasn’t very good at it, and I didn’t like it. I’m better off outside of the teaching profession, and the teaching profession is better off without me. I could have kept working though – schools are perpetually desperate for maths teachers.

I’m a software developer. I don’t tend to talk about that much. It bores people. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD. I love to talk about that, but it can make people uncomfortable. I’m a Buddhist. I wouldn’t mind talking about that, but it also makes people uncomfortable, and most people find it boring anyway.

My wife laughed when I told her I was writing a romance novel. She’s right. It is funny.
